KNOWLEDGE RESERVOIR ANNOUNCES Reservoir KB NORTH SEA MODULE ALPHA RELEASE
HOUSTON, April 26, 2004 --- Knowledge Reservoir today announced the alpha release of the North Sea module of its major reservoir knowledge base product, Reservoir KB. This release is being made available for testing with selected clients. The product can be ordered today, and will be available in July of 2004.
This is the second module released in a series of five modules planned for this product. In addition to two North sea modules, the knowledge base will also cover the deepwater basins of the Gulf of Mexico, West Africa and Brazil.
The deepwater Gulf of Mexico module released in January 2004 was the first module of Reservoir KB developed, and it has been purchased by 12 of the leading Gulf of Mexico deepwater exploration companies.
The North Sea module includes information on 24 of the most important benchmark fields, with data covering over 310 wells. Six key analog reservoirs and their detailed geological, reservoir and production issues unique to the region are studied in depth. Regional statistics, metrics and key topics are also provided in an indexed, searchable format, via an open web-based interface.
Value-added analysis by Knowledge Reservoir experts is included for critical information such as depositional environment, rock properties, ultimate recovery, material balance and individual well performance. This analysis is further dis-tilled into performance statistics by well, reservoir and field.
Peter Rutledge, Managing Director of Knowledge Reservoir’s Aberdeen office said “This tool will play an important role in the merger and acquisition activity developing in the North Sea, as well as aid in the IOR redevelopment endeavors that are already well underway. Reservoir KB will be an important tool to those serious about success in the North Sea region.”
