A research report on Improved Recovery Techniques (IOR and EOR) focused on deepwater and ultra-deepwater assets in the Gulf of Mexico, conducted for the Research Partnership to Secure Energy for America (RPSEA). This milestone project identifies improved recovery opportunities in the early stages of field development planning, such that facility and well designs can be optimized to take advantage of those opportunities. Additionally, opportunities for improved recovery in producing fields are assessed, as are current and near-future technologies for improved recovery. The report includes characterization of deepwater and ultra-deepwater reservoir assets and catalogs key causes of trapped and remaining hydrocarbons.
A technical and economic report of enhanced recovery technologies, techniques and processes aimed at increasing the potential to increase hydrocarbon recovery on the US Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). The report includes a summary of current offshore technologies incorporating artificial lift installations, such as gas lift and electrical submersible pumps (ESPs), waterflood, and subsea processing including boosting from the sea floor and from vertical caisson separators.
A technical report to determine the effects and limitations of downhole commingling in regard to the ultimate recovery of hydrocarbons. The study addresses crossflow of reservoir fluids, the impact of reservoir drive mechanisms, and reliability of zone isolation methods.
