The da Vinci Link
Since the inception of Knowledge Reservoir, our company logo has derived from Leonardo da Vinci’s drawing of Vitruvian Man. With the latest update of our company’s “brand”, we have incorporated even more of da Vinci’s images into our materials.
Why da Vinci? Well, he was the Renaissance man.
Most people know him as a famous artist, creator of the fresco painting of The Last Supper and the iconic Mona Lisa. But da Vinci was also a sculptor, a draftsman, an architect, an engineer and an inventor.
He embodied a large range of skills, talent and vision that spanned a vast continuum from art to science, looking at things differently than most, envisioning possibilities that others could not fathom. Da Vinci designed flying machines centuries before the time of the Wright brothers. He conceptualized machinery way before its time indicating a reservoir of knowledge that is unequalled.
At Knowledge Reservoir, we see the work of the upstream oil and gas similarly—a combination of science and art and, as such, we also pride ourselves in seeing possibilities that others do not.

Our work is grounded first in science, data, and facts, the things we can study and analyze. But because the nature of our work is miles below the sea and the ground, we must be creative and innovative to both model and resolve that which we cannot see with our own eyes, but that which our inherent knowledge allows us to grapple with and assess.
Our goal is ever-increasing understanding so that our industry can better provide the world with the energy we need to thrive.
Analysis. Innovation. Understanding.
